The most popular Spanish computer magazine PC ACTUAL published the results of an extensive comparison of 30 anti-virus products from all over the world. According to the summary, AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) was rated as one of the best and recommended for PC ACTUAL readers.
The comparison consisted of two stages. At the first stage, PC ACTUAL labs tested the general level of anti-virus protection against different types of computer mailware. This was the point where the weakest products, which didn't meet the high standards of the anti-virus industry, were separated. Among them were Norton AntiVirus, PC-Cillin, Sophos Anti-Virus, CA InoculateIT, Frisk F-Prot, Norman Virus Control, and Aladdin eSafe. At the second stage, the labs tested other features for their ability to search for viruses inside archived files, the effectiveness of built-in heuristics to combat against unknown viruses, the quality of technical support, integration with the Internet, price etc.
According to the aggregate index, AVP was rated as one of the best and received a special "PC Actual Recomendado" mark.
"We are very excited that 3 of 6 finalists use an AVP anti-virus engine, which was originally developed by Kaspersky Lab. This is confirmation of the advantages we provide our users and world-wide recognition of Kaspersky Lab's technology as one of the leaders in the global anti-virus industry," said Eugene Kaspersky, Head of Anti-Virus Research at Kaspersky Lab Int.
