Kaspersky Lab announces that Kaspersky Small Office Security performed impressively during its first independent test.
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that Kaspersky Small Office Security performed impressively during its first independent test. The solution, designed to protect the IT infrastructure of small businesses, was put through its paces by Virus Bulletin, the authoritative British computer magazine and research center. In regular comparative testing involving numerous antivirus solutions, Kaspersky Lab’s small-enterprise solution produced excellent results and was awarded a VB100 certificate.
The latest VB100 comparative test was conducted on a Windows Server 2008 R2 platform. More than 40 antivirus solutions from various vendors were tested, including both home-user and corporate products. Each solution underwent several stages of testing, including on-demand and on-access scanning tasks, as well as the customary retrospective testing. The size of each solution’s resource footprint was also evaluated as was archive scanning speed.
The experts from Virus Bulletin made special mention of Kaspersky Small Office Security’s user-friendly interface and the options for fine-tuning the product settings. They also noted the solution’s high performance, especially during repeat scans, as well as the minimal use of RAM.
“We’re glad to see that Kaspersky Small Office Security delivered outstanding results during VB100 testing. The product scored a perfect 100% during the on-demand and on-access scanning tests, with not a single false positive. In the RAP test, overall detection of malicious applications stood at 95.27% - the average score for all the tested products was 82.79%. We have put a lot of effort into creating a solution that protects the IT infrastructure of small businesses, and now its effectiveness has now been proven by independent experts,” said Nikita Shvetsov, Kaspersky Lab’s Director of Anti-Malware Research.
