Kaspersky Lab announces the release of the new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux (3.0 Build 135.3)

New Features:

  • Set-up program (Installer) now supports different types of Linux distributions: Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux, Debian Linux. In particular, this allows for correct anti-virus module startup during the initial operating system boot.
  • Improved system for anti-virus database uploads via the Internet (Updater). Now the program features support for KLB-files allowing for downloading only new updates, and reducing the load of your Internet bandwidth and costs associated with Internet connection.
  • Improved configuration file (profile) format. Added virus-check personal settings for each separate directory and different types of files according to a user's specific tasks.
  • Support for ".", ",", ";" characters in file names.
  • Added "Slogan" module for the generation of brief aggregate statistical reports about the number, diversity, time and place of malicious code detection. Supports TXT and HTML file formats.
  • Added "Chechurl" module for adjusting the fastest and most effective HTTP and FTP Web sites for downloading anti-virus database updates.
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Server now contains a ready-made solution to integrate centralized virus filtering for Postfix e-mail gateways.

The new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus is available for downloading from the Kaspersky Lab Web site at http://www.kaspersky.com/download.asp.

All registered users of previous versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux may upgrade to the new version free of charge.
