Kaspersky Lap reports its Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 solution for home users produced the best results in malware detection and system recovery in a recent Chinese study. Tests carried out by SKD Labs, the Chinese subdivision of the renowned West Coast Labs, placed the Kaspersky solution in the top three on the country’s market – the only foreign security solution to score so highly.
China is one of the largest markets for online services in the world. Experts believe there are more than 550 million Internet users in the country – twice as many as in the USA. However, this huge number of users also means a significant number of cyberthreats which demand attention. The aim of the SKD Labs test was to find out how well security solutions protect Chinese users.
Kaspersky Lab’s product dealt successfully with every demand of the test organizers. The results were impressive: in the on-demand test, based on 12,000 malware samples currently at large in China, Kaspersky Internet Security scored 14.91 out of 15 – 99.41% effectiveness. This was the best result in the test. The Kaspersky product also won the On-Access test, with 14.76 points out of 15 (98.38%) and came top in the Cleaning & Disinfection test with 7.9 out of 10.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 returned no false positives and was rated as the solution with the lowest impact on productivity. It had the least impact in the resource-intensive Run Games scenario – gamers can be sure that they won’t be slowed down by Kaspersky Lab’s product.
The testing program included 17 security products from different vendors. Overall, Kaspersky Internet Security came third, narrowly behind two Chinese products.
“In the phishing link detection and blocking test, our product did a bit worse that we hoped it would, but this was largely due to language-related difficulties: for a non-Chinese vendor, filtering web content in Chinese is much more difficult than in any other language. We are making great efforts to adapt our anti-phishing technologies to the Chinese market, so they’ll ‘understand’ much more in future. At the same time, Kaspersky Internet Security identified the overwhelming majority of threats exceptionally well and the fact that Kaspersky Lab was the only non-Chinese vendor to make the Top Three of the test speaks for itself: whether you live in China or go there on business, Kaspersky Internet Security guarantees a high level of protection for your digital assets,” said Oleg Ishanov, Director of Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab.
Kaspersky Internet Security is an advanced solution for home users which combines cutting-edge technologies to combat all types of malicious attacks, including financial ones, as well as phishing, spam and threats targeting children. In late August, Kaspersky Lab released a new version of the solution – Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 – which has all the advantages of the previous version and includes a number of new protection technologies.
