Kaspersky to participate in IGF 2024: advancing global dialogue on AI, cybersecurity, and digital resilience

Kaspersky is set to participate in the upcoming 19th annual session of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2024, to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 15th to 19th. Kaspersky will host workshops on cybersecurity in AI, digital governance, and the security of minors online. Additionally, the high-level session “Protecting Children's Rights in the Digital World” will feature the company’s CEO Eugene Kaspersky among other prominent experts.

IGF 2024, themed "Building our Multistakeholder Digital Future," will bring together almost 10,000 participants, including policymakers, experts, and industry leaders from more than 175 countries. They will discuss advancements and challenges in internet governance and digital innovation.Established in 2006 by the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the IGF is a global, inclusive platform for open, multi-stakeholder discussions on internet-related issues, emphasizing collaboration among all parties involved.

Kaspersky has continuously participated in IGF events, contributing to the global dialogue on cybersecurity. For example, the company presented its “Ethical Principles on the Use of AI in Cybersecurity” at IGF 2023 in Kyoto, Japan. This year, Kaspersky will be leading several discussions dedicated to the topical issues of the impact of modern technologies on the development of a safer future.

Eugene Kaspersky, Chief Executive Officer, of Kaspersky, will participate in the high-level session panel “Protecting Children's Rights in the Digital World” on December 17th, joining prominent world experts such as Ms. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Human Rights Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ms. Deepali Liberhan, Global Director of Safety Policy, Meta, and Ms. Bella Cherkesova, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia, among others. On December 15th, Mr. Kaspersky will also deliver a keynote presentation on the topic “Immunity: The Future of the Digital World”.

As part of the IGF 2024 agenda, Kaspersky experts will host three workshops exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity, strategies for protecting children online, and the secure digital transformation of businesses. These sessions aim to foster collaboration with representatives from policymaking, industrial, and technical organizations, and will also be available to online participants upon registration.  

The workshop "Universal Standards for Digital Infrastructure Resiliency" on December 17th will examine the development of universal industry standards to strengthen the resiliency of critical digital infrastructures, ensuring their capacity to withstand evolving threats. It will emphasize the importance of cross-border cooperation in setting global standards for digital resilience, showcasing best practices and Kaspersky's ongoing work in the area. 

The workshop “Multistakeholder Cooperation for Online Child Protection” on December 17th will focus on fostering collaboration among governments, tech companies, civil society, and other stakeholders to enhance online child protection. Participants will discuss strategies, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions to create a safer digital environment for children.

The "Cybersecurity in AI: Balancing Innovation and Risks" workshop on December 18th will explore how stakeholders can foster AI innovation while managing potential risks. During this event, Kaspersky will also present guidelines for the secure development and deployment of AI systems, developed in conjunction with leading academic experts.
