The competition is particularly important as the finalists are chosen by users themselves, with the open vote available on the "West Coast Publishing" web site. This means that only the world's most popular products can become a finalist of the "Secure Computing Awards".
In the results of the open vote conducted in January/February this year, AVP has been chosen from among 11 other anti-virus products, outrunning such anti-virus software vendors as Network Associates (McAfee/Dr.Solomon's), Computer Associates, Trend Micro, Sophos, and Command Software.
The final summary and announcement of the winner will be held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on the 11th April.
"We greatly appreciate the support our users gave us during the open vote for "Secure Computing Awards". We are delighted that our AVP customers hold our work in such high regard. In return we would like to assure them that we will keep up the good work to complete Kaspersky Lab's mission - to provide computer users with the most reliable, effective and immediate protection against any type of computer malware," - said Natalya Kaspersky, Kaspersky Lab's CEO.
