Cambridge, United Kingdom, April 23, 2001 - Kaspersky Lab, an international data-security software-development company, introduces the new product line of its award-winning data-security software suite - Kaspersky® Anti-Virus. The new range of products reflects the company's new approach to the strategy of product marketing that implies maximum orientation to the specific needs of end-users.
According to the new product line, all Kaspersky Lab data-security programs are now divided into three main categories:
- For home users
- For small and medium size corporate networks
- For large enterprise-wide networks
The first category includes Kaspersky AV Lite (the light version of the famous virus hunter with renewed interface and designed especially for novice users), Kaspersky AV Personal (a comprehensive virus protection package for experienced users) and Kaspersky AV Personal Pro (the world's most complete set of cutting-edge anti-virus technologies that includes an anti-virus scanner, monitor, e-mail filter, script and integrity checkers, behavior blocker and Control Center). Kaspersky AV Personal and Personal Pro also are powered by the extended features for e-mail protection: both packages now include the module for virus detection and removal from Outlook Express mail databases.
Kaspersky AV Personal and Personal Pro are already available for purchase from the Kaspersky Lab online store as well as through the company's worldwide distribution network. Kaspersky AV Lite will only be available in the online store, OEM-packages or by special promotional programs.
Especially for the virus defense needs of small and medium-size businesses, Kaspersky Lab has developed Kaspersky Business Optimal package. It includes anti-virus software for workstations (Windows 95/98/ME, Windows 2000/NT Workstation, Linux, OS/2, MS Office 2000, and DOS), file and application servers (Windows 2000/NT Server, Linux, Novell NetWare, FreeBSD, and BSDi) and e-mail gateways (MS Exchange Server, Lotus Notes/Domino, Sendmail, Qmail, and Postfix). Also, the package is powered by an integrated software management system for centralized virus-protection deployment and control across the entire corporate network.
Kaspersky Business Optimal is a highly customizable solution for small and medium sized businesses that introduces an individual approach to meet a user's specific needs. A customer can choose the set of components to be included in the package that will significantly reduce the costs for acquiring the required virus protection software.
For large-scale enterprise-wide networks of any complexity, Kaspersky Lab now offers Kaspersky Corporate Suite.
