Cambridge, UK, July 12, 2000 - Kaspersky Lab Int., an international anti-virus software development company, announces that it has won the tender to provide anti-virus protection to the Moscow City Registration Committee.
According to the agreement, in the coming six months Kaspersky Lab will deliver 1000 licenses for its flagship anti-virus product AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) Corporate Suite. This package consists of all the AVP versions available now, including those for workstations (Windows, Linux, DOS, OS/2, MS Office 2000), servers (Windows NT Server, Novell Netware, Linux, FreeBSD, BSDi Unix), e-mail gateways (MS Exchange Server), firewalls and web-servers, as well as the powerful network management tools to control anti-virus protection of the corporate network.
In addition to Kaspersky Lab, Network Associates (McAfee) and Command Software participated in the tender bid. As a result of the two-level testing procedure, AVP showed the best results, outclassing all its competitors.
"The Committee consists of hundreds of offices all around Moscow, which are integrated in one huge computer network. Within the network, there are hundreds of workstations running various operating systems, tens of file and web servers and e-mail gateways. Because of this, we were looking for not only the best anti-virus protection, but flexible and easy to use network management tools as well," said Sergey Sokolov, Chief Deputy for the IT Department at Moscow Registration Committee. "By this criteria, as well as by other requirements-such as frequency of the anti-virus database update and level of technical support-Kaspersky Lab's products are the best."
