Cambridge, UK, June 27, 2000 - On June 15-17 in St. Petersburg, Russia, Kaspersky Lab Int. held the second annual conference for its international distribution partners. Among the attendees were companies that distribute Kaspersky Lab's flagship anti-virus product AntiViral Toolkit Pro in Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, and other countries.

"During the past three years, since Kaspersky Lab has become an independent company, this is the fourth time we have organised special events for our business partners, both international and domestic," said Natalya Kaspersky, Kaspersky Lab CEO. "We strongly believe that this is a necessary practice to create a significant and powerful basis for long-term cooperation."

Main objective of the conference was to define tasks and priorities or joint activities for the upcoming year. Among the most important issues discussed at the conference were strategic plans for business development, new business opportunities, ways of improving partner relations, management of marketing efforts in AntiViral Toolkit Pro promotion in local markets, product language localisation etc. Presenters included: Natalya Kaspersky, Vsevolod Ivanov (Marketing Director), Ian Hale (International Business Director), Tatiana Mramornova (Advertising Director), and Svetlana Ivanova and Bathyr Shikhmuradov (Distribution Channel Managers).

In addition to discussing commercials affairs, the conference also included a special course dedicated entirely to technical questions primarily concerning Kaspersky Lab product development. Michael Kalinichenko, Kaspersky Lab Technical Director, presented the latest version of the AVP Network Control Centre - a powerful management utility to control anti-virus protection over the corporate network. Its main advantage is a new integrated system for the centralised deployment of AVP family products over the network. Additionally, Kaspersky Lab presented the beta-version of AVP v.3.5. for the Windows operating system, powered by a new improved user interface. This product is an interim version of AVP , which will be moving to a new generation of anti-virus software featuring breakthrough portable technology currently under development in Kaspersky Lab.

In response to its partners' suggestions, Kaspersky Lab announced new initiatives to extend and improve its partner technical support by creating a fully automated help desk for users' requests and the implementation of a new bug tracking system.

"We believe the second international partner conference was very successful. It demonstrated the interest and involvement of our partners from all over the world in selling Kaspersky Lab's anti-virus products. It assisted in the further promotion of business relationships and identified solutions to partners' questions," added Natalya Kaspersky, "As the company is developing very fast it is of great importance to coordinate all resources between Kaspersky Lab and its partners. The conference was extremely successful and has helped us define development priorities for the following year."
