Six New Positions Created To Match Increased Demand From Customers And Channel Partners For Award-Winning IT Security
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of Internet threat management solutions that protect against all forms of malicious software including viruses, spyware, hackers and spam, has responded to increasing sales and demand from channel partners, with an expanded corporate sales team for the UK & Ireland.
Corporate Sales Director at Kaspersky Lab, Bill Trim comments: “Kaspersky Lab is the fastest growing provider of Internet security in the UK market. We have seen a huge growth in our corporate business in 2009 and we have increased the number of our channel partners by 20%, following the launch of the Green Team Partner Scheme earlier this year.”
Chris Smith, former Channel Director for Northern Europe at McAfee, is appointed Head of Regional Channel Sales for UK & Ireland at Kaspersky Lab. Chris is responsible for Kaspersky Lab’s channel and distribution partners and has the remit of growing the already thriving channel.
Elizabeth Hatt, former manager of the channel is moving into a newly created role specifically working on partner acquisition and enablement, ensuring new partners are up and running as quickly as possible and that all partners are able to grow their business with Kaspersky Lab. A key part of this role is the management of Kaspersky Academy, a workshop developed for partners that outlines the current threat landscape and delivers detailed sales training.
Also joining Kaspersky Lab are Coreen Head and Doug Sharples (Internal Sales) who will focus on sub 100 opportunities and working alongside resellers to close the deals as effectively as possible. Trim explains: “The SMB market is an area that is typically overlooked by other IT security vendors. However, Kaspersky Lab understands this market, and is committed to delivering our range of award-winning products and services for this segment.”
Kaspersky Lab is also capitalising on its expertise in meeting the security needs of organisations in the education sector with the appointment of proven market specialist, Tinesh Chhaya, who worked previously for Sophos and Gartner, to the role of Head of Sales for Education. Tinesh Chhaya was the Head of Education Sector for UK & NI at Sophos where he was instrumental in significantly growing the UK business. Tinesh executed new business at all levels including multiple Grids and LEA’s. Tinesh will be driving revenue for the education sector in UK and Ireland ensuring Kaspersky increase market share and further extend footprint in this important market segment.
The corporate sales team will be supported by the appointment of Helen Grant to the role of Renewals Manager. Grant will work closely with Kaspersky Lab’s Green Team partners and directly with distributors to deliver support to existing customers for product renewals.
All appointments are based at Kaspersky Lab’s new 12,000 sq ft environmentally friendly UK office in Milton Park, Abingdon.
