Best score in three categories
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of Internet threat management solutions that protect against all forms of malicious software including viruses, spyware, hackers and spam, announces that Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 achieved outstanding results in performance testing by independent company Cascadia Labs.
Computer resource utilisation and system performance of Kaspersky Lab’s and five other vendors’ solutions were evaluated on identical machines with typical home PC parameters.
Cascadia Labs’ test reflects user expectations for safe computing performance: quick startup, fast file and program access, and overall memory and processor availability. Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 posted the best score in three categories, demonstrating the fastest times for scheduled and on-access scans, as well as the fastest time for accessing large files. It also scored highly in the other two test categories, earning the top overall ranking in Cascadia Labs’ comparison.
“Performance is an important factor when determining the quality of an Internet security solution. Today, new and increasingly sophisticated threats require security solutions to perform complex, comprehensive scans of files and Internet traffic. However, this should not result in system slowdown,” says Nikolay Grebennikov, Chief Technology Officer at Kaspersky Lab. “We are pleased that Cascadia Labs’ independent test validates our efforts to provide superior performance while also delivering strong protection and broad security functionality.”
