Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that the company’s personal products Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 received favorable responses and top accolades from leading British IT editions.
The personal products are based on a new antivirus engine which dramatically increases system scanning speed. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 incorporates an innovative application activity filtration module that makes use of HIPS (Host-based Intrusion Prevention System) technology together with an improved firewall, an anti-spam module and a parental control module.
After the release of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009, a number of British IT editions published reviews which highly praised the effectiveness, ease of use, high operation speed and low use of system resources of the new products.
Respected British IT magazine PC Pro singled out Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 for its “PC Pro Recommended” award. The author of the article mentioned that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 was “simpler than earlier versions, the most approachable version showing excellent malware detection levels”.
The author especially stressed that though the product incorporated new technologies, it maintained a low use of system resources – Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 added just one second to the system startup time compared to an unprotected computer. In addition, the product itself needs only 46 MB of RAM, which is pleasingly small by the standards of commercial AV packages.
Another well-known British magazine, Computer Buyer, gave 5 out of 5 points and the “Good Buy” award to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. The authors of the review paid special attention to the new security technologies implemented in the new solution: “We rarely see a new security suite that introduces really innovative ways to protect your PC.”
The new product has received special praise for its use of system resources, which is especially low for an integrated security solution. “The whole thing takes up only 50MB of hard drive space. To put that into perspective, F-Secure 2008 requires 500MB and Norton 360 300MB. The Kaspersky suite not only saves space, it doesn't adversely affect the PC's performance while in use, and didn't noticeably slow down startup”, says the review. “Kaspersky has set the standard for others to follow”, is the author’s verdict.
The October issue of PC Advisor also published a positive report about Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. “Scans are fast, the support is good, the detection rates are among the best in its class”, says the article. “KIS 2009 is a worthwhile upgrade to its predecessor: it offers a very attractive combination of features and protection at a good price. Factor in its low impact on system resources and being light on its feet and KIS 2009 becomes a worthy rival to the likes of Norton 360 et al.”
The review published on the popular on-line resource Pocket-Lint named Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 “an excellent all-in-one security solution”.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 were developed in line with the system requirements for Windows Vista and are fully compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating system.
